Shawna Poliquin is a full-service designer specializing in building, remodeling, and decorating uniquely Southern California homes and commercial spaces.  From historic Spanish-style residences to contemporary California homes, Shawna loves the vitality of California design. 

Since earning her Master’s degree in Architecture from UCLA, Shawna has developed a reputation for injecting authenticity into everything she designs.  Whether honoring the craftsmanship and level-of-detail in historic homes, or taking cues from the flows and forms of modern architecture, Shawna creates stunning spaces for Southern California living.

The moniker You Are Here Design was born out of Shawna’s zest for the Southern California vernacular.  From Larchmont to Venice, Pacific Palisades to West Adams, Calabasas to Hollywood…  The residences she has remodeled run the gamut from 1920’s mansions, to 1930’s bungalows, to 1950’s ramblers, to mid-century modern boxes, to one-of-a-kind, contemporary, avant-garde homes.  The styles are different, but simply by existing in Los Angeles, they are bound through the decades by their relationship to our idyllic environment, and their exuberance in ornament, form, or color.
